Revised MCA code of practice ‘still under discussion’ two years after consultation on changes

That was the message from care minister Helen Whately in response to a parliamentary question from shadow justice minister Alex Cunningham earlier this month. Whately sidestepped the question.

Welsh Government consulting on eliminating profit-making provision for children in care

The Welsh Government has opened a consultation on plans to eliminate profit-making residential and fostering provision for children in care. As of March 2021, the rate of Welsh children in care was 115.3 per 10,000 of the population, far above the 67 per 10,000 for their English counterparts.

The teen increasingly moves from seeing and accepting the patent as boss to seeing them more and more as a consultant. As a consultant, the teen takes the expectations of the parent under advisement and then knowing or unknowingly to the parent, makes their own decisions. That is simply part of the growing up process.
