A scheme placing social workers in schools does not reduce children’s need for statutory social care services, one of the largest ever randomised controlled trials carried out in the sector has found. We know that looked after children often need additional support in school. This difference was not statistically significant.

If your child isn’t sleeping well at night or expresses fear about attending school, that may not be anxiety as you thought. Again, ask your kid about violence literally in the classroom, let alone the school yard. They were all unrelated.

Parenting the infant, preschooler, school age child, the grown up is the boss. The teen increasingly moves from seeing and accepting the patent as boss to seeing them more and more as a consultant. We set the rules, structure, expectations. All that changes come adolescence. That is simply part of the growing up process.

Of course there was the promise of more money to assure appropriate supports both in their residences as well as in public schools.
