The Texas chapter of the National Association of Social Workers issued a statement that it “stands opposed to any efforts to change the definition of child abuse to include ‘gender affirming care’” as referenced by Abbott and Paxton. Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) welcomed more than 300 future social workers to the Statehouse on Feb.
