The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has launched a new website, Value-Based Care Spotlight, providing explanations, useful links, patient and provider testimonials, and more. Because value-based payment models financially reward high quality and cost-effectiveness, many palliative care programs find new opportunities under value-based care, and many value-driven organizations benefit from stronger integration of palliative care into care delivery processes. This website can help clinicians learn more about the basics, as well as the various Medicare or Medicaid payment models now operating or recruiting, including the ESRD Treatment Choices (ETC) Model and the upcoming GUIDE Model for beneficiaries with dementia.
