Addressing Serious Illness Care in Medicare Advantage
In this article in The New England Journal of Medicine, authors discuss concerns regarding care delivery for Medicare Advantage enrollees living with serious illness. Despite the Medicare Advantage’s substantial growth, there isn’t sufficient data to evaluate the quality of care delivered, much less to assess disparities based on race, region, or dual-eligible status. Authors believe the time has come for a forward-thinking approach aimed at reforming the program.
