Study emphasizes the importance of palliative care education for neurologists in the community, to improve outcomes for people living with Parkinson disease.

A recent study led by Benzi M. Kluger, MD, sought to determine whether palliative care training for neurologists and remote access to a palliative care team would improve outcomes for people living with Parkinson Disease and related disorders (PDRD). Findings, which were limited to community-based settings, show that educating neurologists on palliative care principles and providing telehealth-based palliative care has the potential to improve quality of life for people living with PDRD.
