Pediatric Palliative Care Underutilized in the United States
A recent Contemporary Pediatrics article reviews a Pediatrics study in which access to pediatric palliative care was found to be underutilized for children and families in United States hospitals. The study concludes that the development of new pediatric palliative care programs is an urgent priority for optimal care for children living with serious illness, and their families, as one in five hospitals lack these services.
