In a guest editorial published in the Journal of Palliative Medicine, Meredith A. MacMartin, MD, et al. ask if our field is training fellows with the skills needed to be successful in an ambulatory setting. "In a field in which the evidence for improved patient outcomes is overwhelmingly from the outpatient setting, and with increasing guidance to improve access to, and integration of, early outpatient palliative care, we believe that fellowship training is lagging behind the needs of the field."
