Primary Palliative Care in Dementia
A study in Neurotherapeutics found that palliative care is a key component to high quality care for patients with dementia, and most of this care is primary palliative care from the clinician managing their neurological disease. The article discusses the importance of high quality communication, appropriate pain management, and managing caregiver burden when managing the needs of these patients and families.
