Study Examines Frequency and Prediction of Burnout Among HPM Physicians
Authors of a study published in JPSM sought to better understand burnout in the palliative care setting, by conducting a survey to determine the knowledge, attitudes, and frequency of burnout in former Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) fellows from a single comprehensive cancer center (n=52). They found that burnout among former fellows who trained between 2008 and 2018 is high, and suggest further research for its prevention and management.
