Outpatient Palliative Care May Have Distinct Benefits for Patients with Cancer
A recent HemOnc Today article summarizes findings from a study published in JCO Oncology Practice. The study shows that palliative care appears associated with increased hospice utilization and advance care planning (ACP) among patients admitted to an inpatient oncology unit. Researchers also found that patients who received outpatient palliative care had a shorter hospital and longer hospice lengths of stays.
