Palliative Care Needs Assessment for Pediatric Complex Care Providers
In a study in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management, teams that care for children with complex medical conditions described difficulties with setting goals of care, making advance care plans, coordinating care and treating symptoms. Study participants said close collaboration with palliative care providers helped resolve difficulties, and researchers concluded that increased involvement of palliative care could improve care.
