CAPC's new communication skills courses aim to help clinicians provide patient-centered care for people living with serious illness, and more.

CAPC is excited to announce it's launch of new Communication Skills courses, which provide clinicians with techniques to discuss serious news and prognosis; have effective conversations about goals of care and care planning; and facilitate decision-making in meetings with patients and caregivers. Authored by Diane E. Meier, MD, and Drew Rosielle, MD, in partnership with VitalTalk, who developed the curriculum from evidence-based best practices.

CAPC members who have taken previous Communication Skills courses can take the new courses and earn new continuing education credits (for physicians, nurses, social workers, and care managers). Free ABIM Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credits are also available for physicians.
