Knowledge of Palliative Care and Barriers to Access Among Outpatients with Cancer
An article published in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management sought to determine what people with advanced cancer understand about palliative care, including any barriers to access. The study, conducted in an outpatient setting, found that participants had high awareness and knowledge of palliative care. Still, anxiety about the service remained, with a few factors that may result in a delay or lack of involvement.
