My Eyes Listen

My eyes listen, To what my ears can’t hear.” ~ Wendy~

Dear Readers,

I thought of the above phrase as Mr. UT and I were walking one day. When we are outside in nature, my awareness increases in all of my senses. I seem to observe things more closely.

Sometimes I walk just to walk, feeling the rhythm of my stride, However, when I walk and take my nature photos, I walk to observe. Looking deeper into the woods, recognizing animal shapes, noticing a new kind of woodland plant I have never seen before. I can hear the birds, and if I can’t hear something, my eyes will hear it for me, as I see a chipmunk scampering away. Looking closer when I walk stimulates my creativity, making me zoom in, and out, to see the world from many points of view.

Time slows way down when I do this.

Every time I get home from a nature walk, I feel better about everything. It calms me. I sometimes think of a Bible verse I learned so many years ago, “Be still and know that I am God.”(Psalm 46:10) Be still and know I am connected to so much more than I can understand.

“When you bring your attention to a stone, a tree or an animal, something of its essence transmits itself to you. You can sense how still it is and in doing so the same stillness rises within you. You can sense how deeply it rests in being, completely one with what it is and where it is, in realizing this, you too come to a place or rest deep within yourself.” ~Eckart Tolle~

Be still.

It’s a crazy world, and I find rest with the birds, the trees, and the wind.

But NOT the bugs!! Ha!

With my Tick Spray Ready,

On Day 2813,

Wendy

  1. Reading this put me right in that walking mindset. You always take gorgeous photos as well. My daughter works at a park this summer and purchased bug repellent pants. ( She bought them online second hand ) She said she mostly gets bit on her legs and these pants are a great help! Thanks for sharing g your walks with us! ❤️

    1. Hi Adrian!
Yes, we are fine, and having a lovely summer. I just got writer’s block, and really just checked out! But coming up to my 8 years, so I had better write a post.
Thank you so much for checking in with me!
