Dear Readers,

My dear mother passed away on October 2, 2121, at age 96. It’s been hard, as Mr. UT and I were there with her on the day of her passing. She lived in an assisted living home, but we saw her several times a week. She did not suffer much, and really only had some pain the last week before her death. She was able to die in peace, while falling asleep. 

She was a concert violinist for 50 years. Loved adventures. She was a strong, independent woman, who having been born in a small town in northern Wisconsin, in 1925, her parents insisted she get a college education. She lived on her own for a few years, while getting her music degree. She met my dad in college, they married, and had 3 children. 

She continued playing violin for the Madison Symphony Orchestra until she was 83, only retiring to take care of my father who had Parkinson’s disease. She also gave violin and piano lessons to children through adults during those 50 years.

She had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she was loved by them. My mom was fun and spunky. I will miss her.

May she rest in peace.

  7. Wendy, I am so sorry for your loss. I loved the videos you shared of her, she had such a bright personality just like you and always made me smile. I hope it brings you some comfort knowing that she passed peacefully in her sleep, and also that your grief eases relatively quickly although I know it will be intense. Sending you love and hugs.

  11. Our recovery brings out the best in us – that includes being the kind, loving and compassionate daughter you were always meant to be. You could not have given your Mom a more wonderful gift! Thank you for sharing her with us – I feel like I know her. I’m glad you had her for as long as you did… Lots of Love and Hugs to you, Keith and your family

  18. Just catching up Wendy after taking a month off from WP. Send big hugs, light, and love to you and your family. So glad you were able to move your mom closer and be able to be with her. Love is such a precious gift❤️🤗
