Medicaid Expansion and Palliative Care Use Among Patients Newly Diagnosed with Advanced Cancer
In an article published in The ASCO Post, the editors cover a recent study that shows that Medicaid expansion may be associated with increased use of palliative care for people newly diagnosed with stage IV cancer. Per the study, the increased use varied by cancer type (e.g., higher for advanced pancreatic, colorectal, breast, lung, and oropharyngeal cancers, as well as those with non-Hodgkin lymphoma).
