An approach to help palliative care staff to manage work-related stress and promote wellbeing.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which uses behavioral psychology, values, acceptance and mindfulness techniques to improve mental health and well-being. In a study in Palliative Medicine, authors used this Therapy to improve well-being of palliative care staff. Participants found the intervention enjoyable, informative and beneficial. There was preliminary evidence for improvements in psychological flexibility and mental well-being, but minimal change in perceived stress, burnout or compassion satisfaction.
