Many have analyzed the current state of healthcare and the key issues that plague our industry. From skyrocketing costs to subpar quality outcomes and unequal access to care, it is clear that the challenges are immense. In the past, healthcare payments from insurers came after providing services to patients, known as a fee-for-service model. A recent study asked nearly 2,000 hospital patients to offer information about their experiences. One of the things that were measured was the Net Promoter Score (NPS), while another was the current emotional state of the patient. It might seem strange to think that a patients emotional state has an effect on their hospitals NPS, but it turns out theyre definitely correlated.
