Practitioners to be mandated to report child sexual abuse

Social workers and other children’s services staff and volunteers will be mandated to report child sexual abuse (CSA), Suella Braverman pledged yesterday. The home secretary said the government would introduce a mandatory reporting duty, subject to consultation, in response to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse’s final report, published last October.
