We are currently in the middle of one of my least-favorite times of the year – winter. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of aspects of the wintertime that I love. But very small amount of those things tend to happen in January/February. Whether it’s seasonal affective disorder or a natural reaction to the lack of sunlight and generally cold weather, the wintertime can be difficult and lead us to being more prone to mental health challenges.

I see others posting memes and messages that support democracy and/or slam Trump. In the comments along come those who are clearly far right leaning. Their comments challenge the “liberal agenda” and are often demeaning the person with innuendo that suggests they don’t know what they are talking about. They put the person who posted originally, on the defensive.

Over the course of the pandemic there was a greater and greater divide between people. There were those who fell to conspiracy theories often railing against vaccines. There were those who claimed the loss of their freedoms with no sense of civic or moral responsibility. Referrals of couple counseling to address these differences between intimate partners grew.
