The Most Tragic Loss of All, That of a Child

October 3, 2022

I want to speak to those who have lost a child.

That child could be of any age. The child could be pre-born.

The loss could even be of fertility.

These are losses without resolution. A grief without end.

Despite the when, why or age, the loss is not just of the child when it happened.

The loss includes the recognition of all developmental milestones, that loss of celebrating life events because in one’s mind, that child can continue to grow.

One thinks not of the child lost then, but of what their age would be today.

There is the thinking of what they would be doing now at whatever stage of life now is for your child lost.

Oh the pain. It is private yet at time exudes.

Love seeking to land.

Love seeking to behold.

Love seeking to admire.

I see you and your pain.

It is as real as is your child and their loss.

May your never ending love be your quiet source of comfort.

Love doesn’t end.
