Understanding Pansexuality

October 5, 2023

Your child may feel odd, not sure who they are attracted to.

They may find they have feelings for an opposite sex friend and then a same sex friend. Maybe even a trans friend.

You child may then not understand their sexual orientation. Indeed, their attraction isn’t even a sexual thing. It’s about the person.

This is likely the pansexual child.

The pansexual child is attracted less by gender and more by the nature of the individual.

Think of them not as odd or bisexual, but as open and loving of the person for who they are, regardless of gender.

We are all different. We are enamored by different traits. Some people link those traits to a specific gender and others, like the pansexual see past gender to the traits of the person more specifically for their attractions.

It’s kind of nice when you think about it. It can be freeing when accepted.

There shouldn’t be shame for not fitting into the binary of opposite sex attraction.

Everything about being human is on a spectrum. Multiple spectrums.

Hence the rainbow.

As accepted, life is lived more freely, more happily.

Your children are who they are.
