Welcome Kayla Torres, Shelter, Inc.’s new Annual Fund Manager! Kayla is a dedicated and results-driven development professional with a proven track record in fundraising, donor engagement and community outreach. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications and Public Relations from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and is proficient in various technical and data management systems.

In her role as the Annual Fund Manager, Kayla will be responsible for growing Shelter’s donor base, renewing and upgrading donor support, and strengthening relationships with donors.

Prior to joining Shelter, Inc. Kayla was the Development Coordinator at Good Shepherd Center for Exceptional Children where she managed comprehensive fundraising plans and marketing efforts. At Enlace Chicago, she served as a Resource Coordinator, developing sustainable programs for youth and fostering community partnerships. Her background in public relations and fundraising, as seen in her work with Spanish Public Radio, and her administrative skills from her time at Bimbo Bakeries USA complement her development expertise.

Kayla’s commitment to youth advocacy and community development, demonstrated through her work at BUILD, Inc., underscores her passion for making a positive impact. We are thrilled to have Kayla on our Development Team!
